Alternative Energies
Our journey through the OTR Sector continues with a crucial topic in the OTR world of today: How are mining companies investigating alternative energy options to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability? The discussion during the third episode of the seasons, focuses on the challenges in implementing alternative energy sources and on the importance of exploring new paths to reduce resilience on the traditional ones Our guests: Paul Muller, Jonathan Cohen, and Piero Torassa will discuss potential benefits of using renewable energy solutions in mining from a business perspective - such as costs savings and improved energy efficiency - with an eye on energy efficiency as well.

Did you know?
  • Perkins has got 300V and 600V modular system solutions to help OEMs power their large machines and facilitate the transition towards electrification.
  • HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil) is a drop-in fuel that can reduce the overall life cycle of CO2.
  • With AutoStem explosives, you recover more than 80% of the underground commodity by avoiding the shock phenomena and the pulverization effect.
  • By not pulverizing your ore body, you increase yield; you can get personnel back into the mine sooner, which means less energy expended in ventilating the mine to remove those gasses.
